Meyer Theatre Talent Jam

Attached please find a pdf showcasing information on Meyer Theatre’s talent competition entitled “Talent Jam.”  Talent Jam is an exciting opportunity for students in high school and college to showcase their vocal, dance, instrumental or comedic talent on the Meyer Theatre stage.  Auditions will be held on October 23 and the top acts will be chosen.  Then, those chosen will get to perform at the Talent Jam Competition on Saturday, November 19.  The top two winners will be chosen by the audience who will text in their votes.  The third place winner will be selected by judges.  First prize is $1,000, second prize is $500 and judge’s choice is $250.  Please encourage your students to participate!!
Here are some of the specifics:
Competition open to high school and college students only (9th grade and up).
All acts must be from Wisconsin.
All entries must be received by midnight, Friday, October 21, 2016.
Performing acts may include vocal, dancing, instrumental or novelty—vocal restrictions: no more than a quartet (and up to two accompanists). Total of six individuals on stage.  Dance restrictions: No more than six dancers.  All other acts: No more than six individuals on stage for any single performance.
Performances cannot be over 4 minutes in length.
All applicants will be notified of their acceptance and their performance time slot for Sunday, October 23, 2016 by email, no later than October 22, 2016.
On October 23, 2016 eight to ten acts will be selected by a panel of judges to compete for cash prize awards during Talent Jam at the Meyer, Saturday, November 19, 2016.  We ask that if you are not able to perform on that day that you not audition on October 23.
On the day of auditions there will be the following available: a sound system in which to play accompanying CD’s, up to four microphones, and a full keyboard.
